I am at an age where my life is transforming. My daughter is in her final year of college and my son is a high school senior and ready for college. I’ve downsized and simplified my life, and I have extra time for myself to explore, work and play. I have more confidence, clarity, and direction than ever before. Plus I’m having tons of fun and feeling more joyful and energized than I have in years.
Why? At the beginning of the year I made a big change. I finally got off my fear potty, faced the truth, and ended a 25-year marriage, which wasn’t working and was making me miserable.
Divorce was painful and difficult, but now that I’m on the other side and I can see clearly: I know that leaving my ex was the right decision. The relationship was exhausting and prevented me from giving myself what I needed to be happy and better serve others.
I spent the summer recovering from divorce and major eye surgery, playing with my new Beau and recharging my batteries. I also started transforming my business so that I can help more women rock midlife. I stopped hesitating, hiding and waiting to be perfect and just started doing what I know needed to be done to make my dreams a reality.
I’m making my next chapter my best chapter and I invite you to do the same. I’ve started a fabulous new community on Facebook called Dr. Ellen’s Midlife Mastermind to empower and inspire women to find the energy, confidence and courage to transform their lives. Each week I’ll be sharing exclusive tips and techniques along with live coaching to help you move forward towards your dreams and goals. And you can join for free by clicking HERE.
While society tells us life is downhill after 40, I’ve discovered that belief is BS. Midlife is an incredible time of life where you can take all the wisdom you’ve gained from the first half of adulthood, forgive yourself for all the mistakes you made, and decide what changes you want to make to make the second half better. Your cup is refillable. You can empty it by not worrying about what others think and fill it by loving yourself and living on your terms.
2019 is a few weeks away, and it’s a time for change. It’s a powerful season to step back and ask a few questions:
What do I really want my life to look like?
How good do I want my life to be?
How do I start again and attract more peace, prosperity, success, love and … into my life?
From there you can set SMART goals and structured daily routines that will allow you to get on track and have a sustainable plan for managing your work and life as practically and joyfully as possible.
In the words of George Eliot, “It’s never too late to be what you might have been,”
