Apr 6, 2022

On this week’s show we’re talking about two once taboo topics: Menopause and depression Each year 1.3 million American women enter menopause – the time when menstruation officially stops. Millions more will go through peri-menopause. Here’s another fact: women at midlife have the highest rate of depression for any group by gender and age – 12.3% about 1 in 8. Hot flashes, fatigue, insomnia, brain fog, moodiness, weight gain – these are just a few things that women may experience at midlife. Angela Arena

Angela is a natural health and wellness educator and founder of Kind Lab, a radical wellness company specializing in plant-based solutions formulated to work with and for a woman’s body. Angela is a bad-ass woman. She doesn’t just talk the talk, she walks the walk. Her business is not only owned by her but only carries products by other women and minority-owned businesses. Her hemp is sourced from a women-owned hemp farm in Vermont. You are one hundred percent supporting local women when you buy from Kind Lab. A recovering corporate employee, Angela burnt herself out to the max to the point where she had extreme insomnia. That’s when she gave hemp a chance. It cured her sleep deprivation, and she began learning everything she could about hemp. Angela quickly realized the stigma surrounding the plant was all wrong in her experience. Now she’s dedicated to sharing what she has learned to help other women better their lives.
